With this contract, VandalSoft will supply MCE with a system capable of automatically breeding mealworms (brown beetles).
MCE is a green bio startup specializing in insect bioconversion, located in the Daedeok Special Economic Zone research institute. They produce high-quality humic acid fertilizers by utilizing mealworms that consume and decompose styrofoam, contributing to carbon reduction efforts.
VandalSoft is providing MCE’s corporate research institute, currently under construction in Yesan-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, with a one-stop automated management system recently revamped with the Insect Hub, along with robots capable of handling feeding, harvesting, and sorting functions necessary for mealworm breeding.
Lee Bong-hak, the CEO of VandalSoft, stated, “We will expand our presence in the insect market through strengthened partnership and collaborative efforts in insect breeding-related technology development.”
Following the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed last year, VandalSoft and MCE have been striving to expand the insect market through technology exchange and device provision related to insect breeding.
