Korea Standards Association Holds Demo Day to Enter Startup Global

The Korea Standards Association announced that it successfully held ‘The Way of Global Connection’ at the Korea Standards Association DT Center on June 13 in collaboration with Tech Korea Advocates (TKA). ‘The Way of Global Connection’ was a demo day event organized by the Korea Standards Association and TKA to support the global expansion of excellent startups.

he event began with an opening speech by Russ Shaw, Chairman of Global Tech Advocates (GTA), followed by a lecture on the current status and investment strategy of the European-UK market by Tony Clemson, Minister-Counselor for Trade and Investment at the British Embassy in Korea.

The event featured presentations from startups aiming to expand into Europe, including Solivis, Ames, and TerraBlock, along with four other companies, showcasing their core technologies and visions through English pitching sessions.

This demo day, attended by investors and experts from academia and GTA members in Europe and the UK, provided startups aspiring to expand into Europe with opportunities to build global networks for collaboration and investment attraction.

Prior to the event, the Korea Standards Association signed a trilateral agreement with GTA and TKA to support the global expansion of startups and increase exchanges for collaboration and overseas investment between Korean startups and global companies.

Kwon Oh-seong, Director of the Korea Standards Association, emphasized the importance of international cooperation and partnerships for deep tech startups, stating, “More than anything else, establishing international cooperation and partnerships is crucial. We will actively support the global integration of deep tech startups by expanding export certification support and enhancing connections with local companies.”

Meanwhile, GTA is a private-led non-profit community launched in 2013 to support the private sector in London’s early-stage technology clusters. Based in the UK, GTA serves as a global organization consisting of over 15,000 technology leaders, entrepreneurs, and experts from over 70 countries worldwide, broadening the spectrum of the global tech ecosystem.
